Chairman Suleiman Of PFC Address on Mandate Given By River State on Waterways Wreck's Clearing Projects

I am A.A. Alfa Suleiman; The Chairman of Petroleum Financial Corporate.(PFC)
The Company was incorporated with CAC on November 16, 1988 and since then
we have been running legal and successful businesses.
We are constrained to address you and the general public this morning, regarding
the mandate given to our Company Petroleum Financial Corporate (PFC) by the
Government of Rivers State of Nigeria.
The supervening events happened to our Company at the commencement of the
said assignment on January 19,2022, we were on our normal operations,
accompanied by the Nigerian and Marine Police personnel to the Ascot Jetty
Choba. River State.
By venue of a letter dated 22/7/2021 the Rivers State Government through the
State Ministry of Environment (RSMOE) engaged our company (Petroleum
Financial Corporate Limited), to carry out the evacuation of moribund and sunken
vessels and other debris and wrecks from waterways within Rivers state.
Our Company (PFC) after a series of meetings and consultations with various
Government Agencies and other relevant stakeholders, proceeded to activate
necessary processes towards the execution of the assignment accordingly.
Our efforts in this regard were however disrupted severally by some
contemptuous People giving wrong information to the Police and through Court
orders, served to our agent's, Personnel's and Company.
Myself the Chairman & CEO of this great organization was not spared the
harassment, we were arrested, based on ludicrously trumped up charges.
Our Company being a law abiding entity, we refrained from taking laws into our
hands nor joining issues with the perpetrators of those sordid actions. We rather choose the path of law and order, by staying in action until March 28,
2022 when the court cleared our names and we obtained the legal basis to
continue with our operations as officially enshrined on our mandate letter.
Our faith and confidence in the law was rewarded, by the eventual ruling of the
River's State Magistrate Court No.27 presided over by His Worship, A. I. G.
Bob-Manuel Esq. Who struck out the charges hitherto instituted against our
personnel, for want of diligent prosecution on the 28th of March, 2022
(Copy attached herewith).
This ruling obviously buttresses the fact that various acts of antagonism
perpetrated against our company (PFC) by the detractors, were based upon
trumped up and baseless allegations.
We are committed to the discharge of our functions as delegated to us by
Government of Rivers State in accordance with the JULY 8, 2020 COURT
ORDER
attached herewith given in favor of the RIVER STATE
GOVERNMENT and the guideline on WRECKS clearing, irrespective of the
interests who are obviously opposed to our efforts.
We completely align ourselves with the honest efforts of the State Government, to
checkmate illegal bunkering,
abandoned WRECKS on RIVERS STATE
GOVERNMENT WATERWAYS, and other negative activities which are inimical
to the Socio-Economic wellbeing of the state and the nation. We hereby reiterate
our resolve to carry out our State given assignment, without bias, ill-will or
pettiness, no matter whose ox is gored.
We therefore call on all well meaning Nigerians and members of the public as
well as all the relevant Government and security agencies for their cooperation;
And the Nigerian police force to reconfirm their approval of JANUARY 17, 2022,
and give us their maximum cooperation towards keeping Rivers State waterways
free from accidents and other social coarseness.
The success of this onerous task depends on the positive response of all of us.
