Environment Minister Attends National Council Meeting, Calls For Urgent Action Towards Sustainable Future

The Honorable Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has issued a compelling call to action, emphasizing the urgent need to guide Nigeria's environmental stewardship towards a sustainable future. 

This directive was delivered during his keynote address at the 17th Meeting of the National Council on Environment.

During his address, Malam Lawal stressed the pressing need to mobilize financial resources to bolster environmental sustainability efforts, especially amidst global challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss. 
He emphasized the theme of the meeting, "Environment Financing: Need to mobilize more financial inflows for generating adequate resources in support of environmental sustainability efforts," advocating for innovative financing mechanisms such as Green Bonds and Public-Private Partnerships.
Highlighting the collective responsibility as stewards of the environment, he called for bold measures, including the adoption of renewable energy solutions and sustainable practices across all sectors. 
He underlined the significance of preserving ecosystems and ensuring environmental justice for all citizens.

The minister urged attendees to prioritize integrity, empathy, and foresight in their decisions as they strive towards a resilient and sustainable future.
