Ministers of health, pay surprise visit to NANNM, NEC, Meeting , Make the Association Suspend Proposed strike

The National Executive Council  meeting which is a quarterly exercise that bring all the States Chairmen, Secretaries and Representatives of Nurses to brainstorm on issues of national interest and matters affecting members.

On this particular NEC meeting far reaching decisions were made including, 2023 election/submission of delegate by Stete Council, promotion of staff, Directorate of nursing to be upgraded to a department while issue of not fulfilment of past agreement enter by government were also discuss before the  unscheduled visit of the two top brass of the ministry.

Although the NEC meeting is still ongoing and the unionists had reached an agreement to down tools as a result of unfulfilled agreement and hazards faced by it members and the present situation of the Economic reality cause by the removal of fuel subsidy in the country.

The National president of NANNM Comr. Micheal Nnachi while welcoming the two Ministers, outline some of the challenges the body was facing, noting that the have qualify members with experience holding Doctorate and Masters degrees and acquired leadership skills from activities of unionism, why is it that they can not be appointed to position of authorities.

Responding the Minister of health, Dr. Ali Pate said that they heard of the meeting and as partners in ensuring that the citizens get a better healthcare delivery they decided to pay a solidarity call. He assured them of the important president Bola Tinubu attached to medical workers and with the 'renew hope' matra the country will chat a new course in healthcare sector and welfare of all medical workers.

Speaking with News men at the venue of the meeting, Sharon ulmtimate Hotel, Garki, Abuja. The Chairman of NANNM Ebonyi State, Comr. Chief Obasi Bornbless Said that with the unscheduled visit of the Hon. minister of Health to their NEC he is very optimistic that all that was discussed will be implemented and a turn around in health sector will become visible.

The deputy president NANNM, Comr Abubakar Shehu was not different in his opinion of the visit of Hon. minister of health which he described as practical demonstration of reform that health sector in the country will experience while the national Treasurer NANNM, Comr. Mercy Laraba Lenka advocate for good medical environment, equipments, salary structure to discourage nurses from go abroad, she appeal to the government to make provision for adequate equipments, better working conditions to keep the nurses here to provide services to Nigerians whom are in dear need of this services.

At the end of the meeting a communique will be issue and the representatives of the nurses across the country are optimistic of full implementation of the communique from the NEC meeting.

Speaking to our correspondent, Comr Kilani Abdulwaliyu Chairman NANNM Kebbi State said that the surprise visit of the two minister of health is good one, it's the sign that nurses are very important in our country, he them congratulate the Nigeria Nurses for taking their stand, their coming is loaded with full information , they are here to appreciate the Nigeria Nurses and extend their hands of fellowship to Nigeria Nurses, it's show that the President Tinubu choose right people for the job of health workers.

Comr NRS Rosline Solarin Ogun State NANNM Chairman , appreciate the coming of the minister of health she said that shows the quality of leadership ,we have leader that have the peoples at mind and are ready to listen and take action ,we believe that something we are putting forward to government will yield a good results .
