Community Organization Decries Lack Of Cultural Values Among Youths.

The president of Aidogodo Development Community, Comrade Joseph Ameh Onoja has identified lack of Cultural orientation and traditional values among youths as one of the reasons responsible for the high rate of social vices in the society.

Addressing delegates and other stakeholders to mark the 2024 Aidogodo Day and honouring two of their sons, Prof Innocent Ujah, OON VIce Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo and Dr Ame  Idoko, MFR, observed that most of the younger generations lacks better understanding of their culture heritage and transitional values.

Comrade Onoja cited the younger generations of Idoma extraction who cannot even speak the Idoma language, " our children are not coming home, and they don't speak Idoma language. And the situation that they do not understand our culture and traditional values, the tendency is that, it may be wiped away in no distant time.'

According to the Aidogodo Development Community leader, one of the ways to destroy the heritage of the people is to discourage it younger generations from learning their tradition, Culture and values over time, "being mindful of this snare therefore, we would continually celebrate our culture and heritage with honour and dignity".

"As we celebrate, it is good time to reflect on our journey so far. You may be aware, the ADC has set up a committee (Education Submit) to equally tackle the menace of failing standard of education in the community. A Community that will think and act as one united, strong and virile community, with same purposeful goals to up lift our educational development".

While appealing to sons and daughters of Aidogodo to imbibe the culture of unity by forging a common front for development,  he called on the people to be law abiding and report any suspecting movement or development to the law enforcement agencies.

As part of the activities to mark the yearly Aidogodo Day, two of their outstanding sons, Prof Innocent Ujah OON and Dr Ame Idoko MFR were honoured for their contributions to the development of the community.

" We are honouring (2) two of our illustrious sons and recognizing some of our sons and friends as part of our tradition of giving honour to our sons and daughters who have remarkable impact in the sand of history."

 In a telephone interview, Prof Innocent Ujah, the VIce Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, said he was honoured by the good gesture of his Community by recognizing him and his elder professional colleague, Dr Ame Idoko MFR and promised that they we continue to their best to the community and humanity.
